HP Officejet 4635
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

And suddenly my HP Officejet 4635 is no longer running, and the error msg that popped up on the screen evaporated before I could even read it.   I've only had this device for about 2 yrs and it is not heavily used.   Should I organize a decent funeral or is there a fix?    Thanks

Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums! After reading your post I see that you are unable to use the printer and it shows some error message. I would like to help you out with this issue today.

However, I will need a few details to provide an accurate solution,

  • Try to take a picture of the error message with your mobile and let me know what error message are you getting.
  • How is the printer connected to the computer, USB or wireless?
  • Did you do any hardware or software changes?

Meanwhile:

Perform a hard reset on the printer.

  • Remove the power cable from the printer when it is turned on.
  • Press and hold the power button for 30secs.
  • Connect the power cable to the printer and directly to the wall outlet.
  • Turn on the printer.

Reply with the result of the above-mentioned steps, for further assistance.

Cheers.

Sandytechy20,

  • Cannot take pic because I am unable to turn the printer on
  • Printer is connected via usb cable
  • No recent hardware or software changes
  • I cannot perform a hard reset because I cannot turn it on.  Therefore I am unable to perform the steps you recommended.  Sorry

3 ERROR MESSAGES WHICH i IGNORED.  SHUT IT OFF AFTER 2ND ERROR MESSAGE AND ALL CAME BACK ON AS USUAL.

After the 3rd error message (always a bunch of numbers that mean nothing to me) I shut if off again and now it is dead, dead!  I have unplugged it from power and printer to no avail.  Is this the end???
