I have a Google Doc which I need to print in A5 via GoogleCloudPrint from my IPad. I need to use GoogleCloudPrint or HP Smart as I need to change the print density due to the paper product that I am using.
I cannot use AirPrint as it does not allow me to change the Print Quality.
If I use GoogleCloudPrint, I can change the Paper size, DPI but cannot Change the Orientation
If I transfer to HP Smart, I can change the Print Quality but not the Paper Size (Defaults to A4) or Orientation
Can anyone advise a solution?

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support community!
You can change the Paper Size and Orientation on the HP Smart App.
Please follow the steps below:
- Open the HP Smart
- Select the Print tile and select the document to print
- The print preview opens
- Below the Printer Name, click on the paper settings(highlighted in red in the above pic)
- Click on Paper to select the required paper size and click on the layout to select Portrait/Landscape mode.
- Try to print

I have previously replied to this but here we go again.
The HP Smart solution is no good as it does not allow you to select A5 paper. GooglePrint and AirPrint do not allow you to change orientation.
Does anyone have a workable solution.

What is the file format of the document that you are printing?
Try changing the paper settings on the printer itself.
- Open and close the paper tray, you would get a prompt to select the paper settings.
- Once the settings are changed, then try to print from HP Smart and check if that works.
Also, try updating the printer firmware.
- Go to Set Up
menu > Tools > Printer Maintenance > Printer Update > Check for updates now.
- Once the update is complete, restart the Ipad and the printer and try printing.

File to Print is PDF
Setting Paper Size on Printer makes no difference.
Printer Firmware up to date.
Very disappointed that this printer / app cannot perform this very basic task.
l saw a note on the HP Smart app which says that HP Smart used to able to print to A5 it this functionality has been removed.
i am very unhappy that I had to find this for myself rather than being informed by HP.
This does not encourage me to the HP brand, which is unfortunate because the other functionality on this printer is excellent.
if a solution is not forthcoming, I will have to return the printer as being unfit for purpose (although I accept that the app looks to be the problem)
