@LP1917, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're encountering the "Unable to Print. Rendering failed" error on your HP ENVY 6555e despite using HP Smart and HP Print and Scan Doctor. Let's walk through a few steps to resolve this issue.
Ensure Windows and Printer Drivers Are Fully Updated
- Go to Settings > Windows Update and install any pending updates.
- Download and install the latest full feature software and drivers for your printer: HP Envy 6555e All-in-One Printer Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support
Uninstall and Reinstall the Printer Driver
- Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your HP ENVY 6555e and select Remove device.
- Press Windows + R, type printui /s /t2, and remove any HP ENVY 6555e drivers listed.
- Restart your PC.
- Reinstall the printer using the driver from the link above or via the HP Smart app.
Set the Printer as Default
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Click your printer > Set as default.
Check Print Spooler Service
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Find Print Spooler, right-click > Restart.
- Ensure its Startup type is set to Automatic.
Try Printing from Another App
- Try printing a test page from Notepad or WordPad to isolate if the issue is app-specific.
If the issue persists, try printing from another device (e.g., smartphone via HP Smart app) to determine if the issue is PC-specific.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
