Hi @Jobug,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To reduce an image size using your HP OfficeJet Pro 8015e (or 8016e, which is similar) through HP Smart on your Mac (Ventura 13.1.6), follow these steps.
Resize using HP Smart App
- Open HP Smart on your Mac.
- If you haven't installed it, download it from the Mac App Store.
- Select the Scan option from the HP Smart home screen.
- Place your document/image on the scanner bed or in the document feeder.
- Choose Preview to see the scanned image.
- Once scanned, click the "Adjust" or "Resize" option in the scan settings panel.
- Look for a Resize or Scale option that allows you to reduce the image size before saving or printing.
- You might have to experiment with settings like DPI (lower values can shrink the file size) or percentage scaling.
- After resizing, click Save to save the changes.
Use Preview (Mac's Built-in App)
- Scan your document using HP Smart, then open the scanned file in Preview.
- Go to the top menu and select Tools > Adjust Size.
- In the window that appears, you can adjust the width, height, and resolution to reduce the image size.
- After making changes, Save As to keep a copy of the resized image.
Print Size Adjustments
If your goal is to print the image in a reduced size:
- After scanning, go to File > Print in HP Smart or Preview.
- In the Print dialog, look for the Scale option and reduce the percentage from 100% to your desired size (e.g., 50%).
- Confirm the changes and print.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
