HP Envy 4520
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Got a new laptop, connected my HP Envy 4520 printer and tried to print a document. When I try to print, the print window comes up, but the page(s) will not. It shows in red "Printer experienced unexpected configuration problem Error code 0x8007007e. I tried to solve the issue by 1 of your recommendations: Leave printer on, remove cord from both printer & outlet & wait 60 seconds. Reinstall ink & try to print again. These did not correct the issue.

Can someone please HELP????

Thank you!

@Malene2472 Due to the current global COVID-19 situation, we're seeing an influx of customers coming in for support and we appreciate your patience.

That said, Let's start with the first steps, to Reset the printer to recover from printer failures.

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.

  2. Unplug the power cord from the power source.

  3. Wait 60 seconds.

  4. Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.

    NOTE:

HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

If the error message persists, continue to the next step.

Remove the ink cartridges and reset the printer.

  1. Remove the ink cartridges from the printer.

  2. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.

  3. Unplug the power cord from the power source.

  4. Wait at least 60 seconds.

  5. Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.

    NOTE:

HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

  6. Turn the printer on.

  7. Reinsert the ink cartridges, and then close the ink cartridge access door.

  8. If you receive a prompt to print a calibration or alignment page, do so.
