Hi All, 

I would like to discuss with you something, the printer EWS page where the serial no is mentioned here is showing xxxxxxx value means no serial number on the EWS page, We tried to add a printer on the machine but also it's not fetching serial number. My client confirmed that this printer is in "Unity Demo mode"  and I do not know what this means.
I tried to find a solution on Google Chrome and I followed some steps on the EWS page or the Printer manually but I did not find the solution or change any mode option.

If someone has any knowledge about it printer serial no is not showing through the EWS page or while installing the driver if there is no serial number then how can we fix it? Is this printer serial number encrypted?

In a case when the printer mainboard is replaced sometimes the serial number is not saved to the new mainboard, but the printer should work even if it has XXXXXXXXX as serial number.

Yes, that printer is working fine, but in the client production when we are adding a printer to select option TCP IP, it's not fetching the details of the serial number along with other information also same as on the client production due to some applications not working properly. Do I need to discuss it with the HP Support Technical team?

YOu can change serial number by sending PJL command to the printer, it's has been discussed before on this forum and on google you can find steps on how to.
