I've seen this complaint from a number of other users.    We operate this printer in a second home, so the subscription wasn't a good idea... So, I went and bought some HP cartridges after the subscription expired.    After installing the new inks... the printer shows "validating, please wait."      I'm tired of waiting.

Hi @CKOpie,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e is stuck in a validation loop after installing new ink cartridges. This is a known issue that some users have encountered. Here are some steps you can try to resolve it.

  • Check Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the cartridges are correctly installed. Remove each cartridge and reinsert it, making sure it clicks into place.
  • Clean Contacts: Gently clean the gold contacts on the cartridges and the printer with a lint-free cloth or cotton swab slightly moistened with distilled water. Let them dry completely before reinserting the cartridges.
  • Restart Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 60 seconds. Plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Update Firmware: Ensure that your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can check for updates via the printer's control panel or the HP Smart app.
  • Reset Printer: Perform a factory reset. This will erase all settings and configurations, so use this as a last resort. You can usually find the reset option in the printer's settings menu.
  • Use HP Smart App: Open the HP Smart app and see if you can manage the printer settings and cartridges through the app.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
