When I use the copy function on my printer (only on black copy function) I get columns of black vertical lines. I am NOT using the ADF function, I am using the flatbed scanner. This picture was from putting a blank piece of paper on the flatbed scanner and hitting the copy function and then black. If use the copy function color to copy a blank piece of paper it will print out a blank piece of paper with no lines. I can print from my computer with no issues this only occurs utilizing the black copy function. Please help...

@JP5466, Welcome to HP Support Community!
Are you able to scan from the computer?
What happens when you use the ADF?
Reset the printer and check the power source
Check the power source to make sure the printer is getting enough power to operate the copier.
-
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer, disconnect the power cord from the power source, and then wait 30 seconds.
-
If you are using a power strip or multi-plug adapter, connect the cord directly to a wall outlet to make sure the printer is getting enough power.
-
Reconnect the power cord to the printer, and then try making a copy. If the issue persists, connect the printer to a different wall outlet to determine if the original outlet is causing the issue.
Also, Update the printer firmware
Download available firmware updates from the HP website
With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Refer to the document HP Printers - Resolving Copy Problems for additional help.

I download the firmware found on the HP site and it appears to have fixed the problem.
Prior to the update the only time it would print the lines was using the flat bed scanner on the black copy function. The ADF would copy correctly and scan function worked just fine.
Thank you for your reply!
