Bob-
Just checking - in my last posting on Aug. 18, I specified margin details for a few of the duplex jobs I've attempted in various programs. I'm hoping I haven't seen a response because there's some work being done on updating the appropriate drivers - can you confirm if this is the case, or if I've reached a dead-end on finding a solution?
Thanks!

To be honest I have not had a chance to look into this. I do not have an Officejet 8500, what I would do is rather painstakingly analyze the GPD files, calculating each of the physical margins and looking for inconsistency. When I last did this (for the cp1700) it was about ten hours of work and I just have not had any spare time for this yet. (I am a volunteer here.) Since this is a current model still supported by HP it would be worth a shot calling HP if your unit is still under warranty. I do not work for HP and do not have any visibility into any bug reports or development efforts they may have underway.
BTW, please confirm the paper size and paper type you posted the results for. I am assuming A size and "plain paper" settings, if it was something different please let me know. (Each combination of media size and type has its own margins.)
I have flagged this post as one that needs more of my attention, but I should warn you that I have quite a backlog currently, just for August I have nearly forty items I need to revisit and this one will be a fair amount of work so I cannot guarantee anything.

Thanks, Bob, for the follow-up. I can confirm that all of the cited print jobs have been attempted using 8.5 x 11 paper with standard 20-lb. weight.
Thanks for your continued efforts - I'll try to contact HP's help desk and will post any input (or lack thereof) I receive.

I installed my new Photosmart c309n printer.
In Office 2010 The option to print duplex is not there.
WhenI print from ADOBE PDF I do get the option!
I have downloaded the latest drivers, and read the suggestions in this thread but no joy!
Thanks for your any help!

I've just connected an Officejet 6500 wireless to my hp touchsmart 300 (64 bit) which runs Windows 7 via a USB cable.
Trying to print a booklet from either Excel or Word produces the goods, but the text is not properly sized or centred on the pages. There does not appear to be any way of changing the settings for the layout of the booklet.
Can you help?

HP PSC 1315 All-In-One
Windows 7 op sys (though I originally had Windows XP and had the same problem I'm about to describe)
Connected through a USB port (not sure if that is how you wanted me to answer this question).
Brand new, full HP 57 and HP 56 cartridges
I've done EVERYTHING on the problem shooting page for this printer: this page.
Currently, I'm talking with tech support and running around in circles with them. I hope you can help me.

Problem:
Everything I print from my PC is blurry. If I copy directly from scanning a document and then printing it, it prints fine. If I print an alignment sheet, all the letters/numbers are clear. It only prints blurry from my PC.
Thanks in advance,
Angela

Since this post has nothing to do with duplex printing I would suggest starting a new thread. Please use a title like "PSC 1315 Prints Blurry in Windows 7 from _____", with the application you are using to print listed. In the body of the post please give the details of what programs you have tried printing from, what driver settings you are using and what media you are printing on.

Hello,
I have a P1606dn attached via my network to a vista laptop. When I try to duplex, the back side is upside down. I followed all the steps listed in this forum, but nothing has solved the problem. What should I try next?
Thank you for your help!

There was a recent driver update (8/26/2010) that addresses some issues with margins in duplexing, download the driver from HP here.
