I have a Photosmart Premium (C309g) with an auto duplex problem. Printing from Word 2007, running Vista, the printer either shrinks image on the page the significantly, or cut off the text from the top or bottom of the page.

What version of the driver are you using?  How much are the margins shrunk?

I have the same problem.  Using Publisher 2007 with Windows XP.  When printing duplex copies, the margin shifts causing my booklet to look like it has uneven margins.  Have you come up with a solution????

Given the thread, this question might seem almost ironic but the issue is frustrating. I have a Laserjet P2055dn connected to a small wired home network with a static IP address. My desktop runs windows 7 ultimate x64 and I have the latest PCL6 driver installed (the one released by HP in March)

Everything works except for the fact that I cannot print single side documents no matter what options I choose either as the printer's defaults settings or when printing. Any help would be much appreciated.

My issue with a C390A is with duplex it wants to print triple the amount of pages that I ask to print. For example if I ask it to print a 25 page document it will try to print 75 pages and it will not get past the 3rd or 4th page. I have talked to HP support for HOURS to where I had to switch phones because the battery went dead and still no resolution. I had a perfectly good 705 that was very old that worked better than this printer.

Try the following:  go to the Devices and Printers folder, right-click on the C309A, select Printer Properties, Ports and uncheck the "Enable Bidirectional support".

What exactly happens when you select single sided printing?  Do you get any error messages, or blank pages or ???

It may be best to start a new thread with this topic.

Hi,

I have an officejet pro 8000, 809a connected to a usb port  and am running windows 7 with the most recent driver for the printer. When I try to use the duplex feature, the backpages are printed upside down most of the time but not always. It may print the first, say, 10 sheets this way and the last 5 ok. I tried both the check and unchecked "flip pages" option.  No difference.

I also tried the manual two-sided printing. Even though I think I followed the directions correctly (take out the sheets with the odd pages, rotate 180 degrees and reinsert in the paper tray), the even pages started at the end and printed to the fromt.  So, e.g., with 10 pages, page 1 is on the front of the first sheet and page 10 on the back. bacAnd one time it printed the back pages in essentially random order.

I would think it is impossible  for this  to happen with mindless software, but it did,

I checked the list of patches you linked to, but there was none for the 8000.  Any suggestions?

The Officejet 8000 is a relatively recent printer model, I do not have any experience with it.  If you are still under warranty I would suggest you Contact HP for service.  In the US call 1-800-HPINVENt, elsewhere click on the link.

I've got an HP PSC 1510 all-in-one which on my old Windows XP PC allowed me to print on both sides of the paper; since buying a laptop with Windows 7 64-bit installed, the Printer Preferences screen is different (where I select colour, finishing etc) and although it has the option to print on both sides, even though I select "Manually", the printer still only prints on one side of the paper.

When I first connected the printer, I allowed W7 to find the drivers itself,  I have downloaded drivers from HP support pages, the printer is connected via USB cable to the laptop.

Does this feature not work in W7?

Thanks - BB
