I presume that you have plugged in the interface cord from the duplexor to the appropriate jack on the printer.

Hello,

I have Windows 7 and a C7280.  When I right click the mouse to print web pages or text documents, the duplex unit somehow uninstalls even though It was previously installed in printer properties.  Any ideas?   HELP!!

I recently had Windows Enterprise 7 installed on my comuputer and now the printer driver does ont even give an option for duplex.  i have a Business Inkjet 1200.  The old OS driver worked fine.  I have reinstalled and even found an older version of the driver, but nothing works.  I can print, just not two sided.  on the website there is NO Driver to download and replace this one which does not work with this device.

Need a fix ASAP.

The driver defaults to the duplexer "not installed".  As described in the first post in this long thread you need to enable the duplexer.  Go to Start, Devices and Printers, right click on the BIJ 1200, select Printer Properties, Device Settings and set the duplexer to "installed",  Apply.

That is not at all correct.  I know how to change the parameters, but with the Driver loaded by Windows 7 there is no option.  The duplex unit does nto even show up in the device settings tab.

Sorry, but that was a screen shot taken today from my Windows 7 x64 system, it is correct.  You must have some other issue. Make sure you have clicked the "Windows Update" box and waited for the update to complete.  You may need to do this as Administrator or a user with admin priviledges.  There are also two Business Inkjet 1200 driver available through Windows Update, I am using the labeled (HP).  The (HP) drivers tend to be more recent than the (Microsoft) drivers.

OK, just for fun I installed the Microsoft version of the driver and it also has the option to enable the duplexer.  Make sure when you right click on the Business Inkjet 1200 you select "Printer Properties", not "Properties".

You might click on the "Security" tab and make sure your user has capability to "Manage this printer".

The first time I updated the printer drivers in Windows it offerred me a version 6 or 6.1... I again updated and I was able to find the driver in the image you uploaded.  So, i installed it and there is an option for a duplex unit, which I selected.  i am not in the office today, but will try it out tomorrow.

It still does not give me show duplex as an  print option though.

If I still have an issue, it must be that our network administrators hav us running Windows 7 in a 32 bit version?

Thanks,
Tom

The choice of 32 bit or 64 bit should not make any difference.  You may need to exit the Print Prefereences and then open it back up after setting the automatic duplex unit to "installed", I note I had to do that here.

Hi Bob,

With Windows 7 and a C7280,  I have followed your instructions setting duplex unit installation and and printer preferences and after I right click my mouse to print documents the duplex unit will then revert to  "not installed" and printer preferences shows two sided printing  "off".  I have checked my security settings and it all appears normal to me.  I am a novice with this sort of thing.  Thanks

Correction to my post above. Printer preferences shows two sided printing  "automatic".
