Printer Error "Wait until the printer finishes before pushing in the output tray extender.

When printing from MacBook Air laptop

However, when I print from the Mac DESKTOP it works fine.

(But I mostly use the laptop, and really need this working for my job)

This is maddening!  The printer first starts TRYING to print - the wireless command is received fine - but then gives this message.

I have tried all sorts of Resets.  That does not work. I suspect I might need something new on my laptop?  Adobe?

I see that you are not able to print from your Mac. Adobe has nothing to do with this issue. If you are able to print fine from the desktop, it means the printer is working fine.

• Which application are you trying to print from?
• Are you using the HP Smart app on the Mac? If yes, did you install it from App Store?
• Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF, Word, or Webpages and check if the issue persists?

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your Mac.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Also, check for any software updates on Mac

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.

Check if the output tray extender has no obstructions and keep it open while printing.
