Microsoft Windows 11

My 4-year-old HP 9010 printer has a major carriage jam. It won’t move at all. It’s not a paper jam. It’s not a problem with the ink cartridges, which are almost full. I cannot even reach the ink cartridges.

It appears a technician will need to open the case and replace some parts. I elected to buy a new HP 9120e printer, which works just fine.

I want to recycle the old printer, but I can’t find a way to clear the memory with the pending carriage jam error. The printer is no longer connected to the internet or to my computer. Also, I unenrolled it in the HP Ink program when I got my new printer.  I am not going to recycle if my personal information will be at risk. Any suggestions?

Hi Frustratedabc

Recycle used printers and ink and toner cartridges through HP Planet Partners and partnerships with local retailers.

You can find all the information here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_7392257-7392304-16

This printer does not have a memory in which personal data can be stored!
