My 4-year-old HP 9010 printer has a major carriage jam. It won’t move at all. It’s not a paper jam. It’s not a problem with the ink cartridges, which are almost full. I cannot even reach the ink cartridges.
It appears a technician will need to open the case and replace some parts. I elected to buy a new HP 9120e printer, which works just fine.
I want to recycle the old printer, but I can’t find a way to clear the memory with the pending carriage jam error. The printer is no longer connected to the internet or to my computer. Also, I unenrolled it in the HP Ink program when I got my new printer. I am not going to recycle if my personal information will be at risk. Any suggestions?

This printer does not have a memory in which personal data can be stored!
