Hi @caweav
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the "Marker Supply Low" error.
Check inks levels using these steps - On the printer control panel, touch the Ink Level Indicator icon . The control panel displays estimated ink levels. Consider replacing cartridges marked
or
when print quality becomes unacceptable.
If the ink levels are fine, try these steps to reset the printer -
1) Take out the cartridges.
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Wait for 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.
5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.
Try updating your Mac using these steps - How to update the software on your Mac
Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

It turned out just that 2 cartridges were low on ink - not out, just low. I usually wait until the image color is clearly distorted, at least for private use, before replacing. I think the message "marker supply" is a marketing ploy to get us to replace ink cartridges before really necessary. It would be clearer to say that the ink level was critical, rather than some amorphous "marker supply" message.
