I was copying an article from a magazine. Got one two sided page but the next one only printed one page. Could not get the back side page to print. When I tried, the icon ADF Error lite came on and just spit the page out.

Hi @SteveJH018,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The "ADF Error" icon on your HP Envy 6455e printer stands for an "Automatic Document Feeder Error." This error typically indicates an issue with the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) which is used for scanning or copying multiple pages automatically.
Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and correct this issue.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Open the ADF cover and check for any paper jams or pieces of paper stuck in the feeder. Remove any debris carefully.
Align the Pages Properly:
- Ensure that the pages are properly aligned and not crumpled or bent. Misaligned or damaged pages can cause feeding issues.
Clean the ADF Rollers:
- Dust or dirt on the rollers can cause feeding problems. Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to clean the rollers inside the ADF.
Check the Paper Size and Type:
- Make sure that the paper you are using is within the supported size and type for the ADF. Some types of paper, such as very thick or glossy magazine pages, might not feed well through the ADF.
Reload the Document:
- Remove all the pages from the ADF and then reload them. Make sure the stack of pages is not too thick and that it meets the printer's specifications.
Restart the Printer:
- Turn off the printer, wait for a minute, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes reset any errors.
Update Firmware and Drivers:
- Ensure that your printer's firmware and drivers are up to date. You can check for updates on the HP support website.
Use Flatbed Scanner for Difficult Pages:
- If the problem persists with certain pages, you can use the flatbed scanner to copy those pages instead of the ADF.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
