What has HP done to HP printing using HP Smart

Is it possible to go back to the simple days where printing was done by the operating system. The latest HP Smart kills jobs and locks them in the laptop and they will not delete, despite repeated attempts and eventually even a reboot did not fix it. A delete of printer and re-install fixed the issue. This is un=acceptable, and really poor coding. The old OS spooler worked really well and I cannot see why I have to have such a large bloated piece of code to print. 

I have used HP kit for so many years now I am really considering going elsewhere.

If you do not like HP Smart, you need not use it -- using the HP Smart application is optional.

The Full Driver Printer Software is still available for your printer and Windows 11.

HP OfficeJet 4650 series Print and Scan Driver and Accessories 

In general, the web pack should load -

Download package > Save > Right-Click on the installation Package > Run as Administrator

If / When asked, opt for the Full Driver / Full Software to be installed.

Using USB?  (Re)Connect when instructed to do so.

After the software is installed, Restart the computer and sign in.
