After setting up my printer, I see it creates it's own SIDD and resides on the same channel as my 2.4 network. No matter what channel I move the 2.4, the HP SIDD follows.
After several minutes of the HP being powered on, my network disappears (both 2.4 and 5 band SIDDs) and we lose connectivity. I highly suspect it's the printer because; 1) this never happened to my network prior to purchasing and installing the HP printer, and 2) when the printer is completely powered off, this effect does not happen.
So far, our workaround is keeping the printer completely powered off until we need to print. Then we power on and print as quickly as possible. Then we powered it off again. It's a hassle and starting to cause problems with the printer being found and connected.
I suspect that the issue is becuase both the HP and my network SIDDs are on the same channel. Is this a correct assumption? If so, what's the solution? Thanks

Simply turn off Wireless Direct in the printer like the User Guide tells you too. Problem solved.
Wireless Direct is only used if you do NOT have a router.
