Hello,

First timer here.

I have a problem when printing a picture via my 'Serif PhotoPlus X4' program.

Using this program for years now in combination with the HP Officejet 1280

with good printing results.

Recently I bought the 'HP Officejet 7610 all in one' and when printing a colour picture,

I do not receive a printing result which matches the colours on my monitor.

There is a slight redish colour spreading all over the picture . Did not face this problem

using my old HP 1280.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

It took me some time to execute your advice. I had to browse in photo archive to look for:

-A digitalized photo on CD which also was developed and printed in a photo laboratory.

-Buy Official glossy photo paper to match with the photo paper used by that laboratory.

I noticed that the photo on the CD using my PC and LG monitor (an IPS277L) perfectly matched with the one that was printed by the laboratory.

Now when using that glossy photo paper and printing the photo with my HP 7610, the print PERFECTLY MATCHED with the one that was printed by the laboratory! No reddish colour especially in the white areas detected.

So the conclusion may be that using simple printing paper is not the way to judge the colour printing quality of the HP printer.

Believe me or not it was a relief for me!

Hi @AnalogueMan

Welcome to the HP Forums! Smiley Happy I would be happy to help you with the print quality issue you have expressed. I understand you are seeing a slight redish colour spreading all over your pictures. Does this only occur when you print from Serif PhotoPlus X4? Can you try printing from another program if you haven't already.

Please use the following document to troubleshoot the issue; Fixing Ink Streaks, Faded Prints, and Other Common Print Quality Problems.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance. Thanks.

Indeed I did also made a print using another program: IrfanView with the same result.

But I have to a more precisely description: the slightly reddish colour is only noticeable in white areas and I have the impression that the colour red in a print is also a little more saturated than on the screen.

Of course I can try to correct something using the picture adjustment possibilities of the Serif PhotoPlus X4 program, but

I did not had to do this when I had my old HP 1280 as printer.

Hi @AnalogueMan

The best thing to do at this point is to perform a copy of a photo. If the copy turns out good, we will know the issue has something to do with the driver or the settings. If the copy has the same reddish appearance, the issue is the printer itself.

I see that your printer is having issue printing black ink, and I would be happy to assist and answer your questions!

I recommend following this document on when the Printer Does Not Print Black Ink or Color Ink, or Prints Blank Pages. In terms of product specifications and printhead usage, please take a look at the User Guide. If you are still experiencing problems printing without any black on the page, please call our technical support at 1-800-474-6836. Why don't you give streghtforward answer?

I went through your article, for few hours trying solutions (yes I installed genuine HP black cartridge and Calidad color cartridges) )  and finally my conclusion is :

Do not buy HP ink  printers until they will learn to make working cartridges.

I never had such problems with Canon, Brother, or Epson printers.
