HP Officejet Pro 6970
Microsoft Windows Server 2019

I am using an officejet pro 6970.  I had printed a number of pages with no problem.  All of the pages were black and white only. When the job was finishewd I noted that the last pages printed had spots where they were readable then other areas that were blank or just too light to read .  Because it was near the end of the printing job I thought I had runout of ink.  I went and purchased a new HP cartridge (black).  It printed a few pages with no problem.  I left the room, and when I returned to the printer, I was having the same problem as I had before I changed the ink cartridge.  When I printed a test page the page was fine until it got over 1/2 complete and the it left an area on the lower left of the page blank.

Hi @Hack5

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the print quality issue.

To better assist you - Are you using genuine HP inks?

While you respond to that, try cleaning the printheads -

1) From the printer control panel, open the Setup  menu.
2) Open the Printer Maintenance menu.
3) If necessary, open the Tools menu, and then touch Clean Printhead.

If the issue still persists, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
