When I try to print, I get a message that printing jobs are stopped. I choose resume and print que states that it is waiting for the printer. The printer is connected to the network. I can scan and send it in an email. Pausing and unpausing has no effect.
I have restarted both computer and printer.

Hi @jimfesq,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M225dw printer is experiencing a communication issue with the print queue. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.
Restart the Print Spooler Service
- Press Windows + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box.
- Type services.msc and press Enter.
- In the Services window, scroll down and find the Print Spooler service.
- Right-click on it and select Restart.
Clear the Print Queue
- Open the Run dialog box again (Windows + R).
- Type C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS and press Enter.
- Delete all files in this folder. These files are the stuck print jobs.
Update Printer Drivers
- Go to the HP support website and download the latest drivers for your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M225dw.
- Install the drivers and restart your computer.
Check Printer Settings
- Open Control Panel on your computer.
- Go to Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M225dw and select See what's printing.
- Make sure Use Printer Offline is not checked. If it is, uncheck it.
Assign a Static IP Address to the Printer
- Access your printer’s control panel and go to the Network settings.
- Find the IP Settings and change the IP address to a static one, outside your router’s DHCP range.
Reinstall the Printer
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M225dw and select Remove device.
- Restart your computer.
- Add the printer again by clicking Add a printer in Devices and Printers.
Check for Firewall/Security Software Interference
- Temporarily disable any firewall or security software to see if it is blocking the print jobs.
- If the printer works, configure the software to allow print jobs through.

Reset the Printer Network Settings
- On your printer, go to Setup > Network Setup > Restore Network Settings.
- Reconnect the printer to your network.
Verify Network Connection
- Print a Network Configuration Page from your printer’s control panel.
- Check if the printer is connected to the correct network and has a valid IP address.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
