A strange window opens when I try to print from file. It is totally unlike the usual interface with options of Fax. HPAD5583, Microsoft print to PDF, Microsoft XPS Document writer, OneNote for windows 10. None of which will print. All the diagnostic sheets have printed out perfectly, Printer Status Report etc. A pop-up window says 'Printer in error state'.
Any guidance advice most welcome.
Cheers Brian

Morning Elohi
I thank you for your prompt reply, I'm impressed with your and HP's response.
Strange to relate, yesterday, due to pressing a wrong button, the printer tried to print, it couldn't because it was switched off, but the response was normal, so I turned it on, and hey presto! it works. The usual interface has reappeared, and this morning I printed off your suggestion. I've no idea how it cleared itself as during the repeated download of the drivers it was rebooted, I also tried the reboot in hope at least twice, but it has.
I intend to keep your response in case it decides to retire its services again, but thanks again.
Cheers

Hi @seagoon1,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
We may have to reset your printer to factory settings and see if that fixes the error.
Follow these steps:-
- Restoring the printer to factory defaults will remove all settings and functions previously set up on the printer.
- With the cartridge access door open, press and hold the Wi-Fi and Power buttons for at least three seconds.
