I have always printed from my phone but now it sends the job and says complete but doesn’t print. No errors did hard restart of printer uninstalled app on phone and even tested printing from computer which worked just not from phone

If you're experiencing issues with your HP printer not printing from your phone even though it shows the job as complete, there are several troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue.

 

  • Check Printer Connectivity: Ensure that your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone. Sometimes, connectivity issues can prevent the printer from receiving print jobs.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can usually update the firmware through the printer's settings menu or the HP Smart app.
  • Update Printer App: Make sure you are using the latest version of the HP Smart app on your phone. Go to your app store (e.g., Google Play Store for Android or Apple App Store for iOS) and check for updates.
  • Restart Your Phone: Sometimes, the issue might be with your phone. Try restarting your phone to clear any temporary glitches.
  • Forget and Reconnect to Wi-Fi: On your phone, forget the Wi-Fi network you're connected to, and then reconnect. This can help establish a fresh connection.
  • Check Print Queue: On your phone, check the print queue for any pending print jobs. Sometimes, a stuck print job can prevent new ones from being processed.
  • Check Print Settings: Ensure that you've selected the correct printer in the HP Smart app and that the print settings are correct (e.g., paper size, quality, etc.).
  • Reinstall the HP Smart App: Uninstall the HP Smart app from your phone, and then reinstall it. This can resolve any issues with the app itself.
  • Try a Different Printing App: If the problem persists with the HP Smart app, try using a different printing app to see if the issue is specific to the HP app.
  • Printer Reset: You can try performing a factory reset on your printer, but be aware that this will erase any custom settings. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.
