When printings a word document with HP 8720 pasted photos are cropped. Converting to PDF works OK.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the  "photos are getting cropped" issue. 

 

Do not copy and paste images from the browser to word, download or save the image on your computer before adding it to the word file.

That should resolve the issue.

Thank you for your help.

It does'nt make sense that a new printer will require more effort than older generation.

HP should produce s simple solution enabling easy and conmfortable work.

@URIMO, thank you for the response.

  • It seems like an issue with the application you are using to print and not the printer. 
  • Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF, Word or Webpages and check if the issue persists?
  • Have you tried downloading or saving the images and then attach it to the word document and try printing?
