After installing my wireless all in one printer HP Envy 5030 I've discovered that there isn't a desktop shortcut or a printer icon to be seen anywhere. Can anyone tell me how to get them please? As far as I know the printer is correctly installed with the right drivers etc. I would very grateful if someone could help me fix this as I cannot do it myself. Thank you in advance.

Normally when you install the Full Feature Software, the Printer Assistant icon named for your printer is installed on the Desktop.
Printer Software - Installation
NOTE: If using USB, disconnect the USB cable between the printer and the computer before starting the installation. Connect the cable when instructed to do so (toward the end of the installation procedure).
Download, save, and install the Full Feature Software for your Operating System version
After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in

Thank you for your help. I ended up running the Print and Scan Doctor as you suggested and discovered that there was some software missing. The "doctor" fixed that and everything now seems to be ok and I have several shortcuts on my desktop. It seems to be a great tool and well worth knowing about. Many thanks again.

You are welcome.
Keep the link to the Doctor handy -- every so often the program is updated to make it smarter. If the current version doesn't catch something, the next version might do so. Smiling.
Happy Printing!
