Where do I find WPS pin on Office Jet Pro 8710, it tells me I can find it on the printer or in the paperwork that came with the printer. "not a chance, just not there"!

There seems to be a thread on this topic of WPS. Different printer, hopefully it works for you.

Hi,
Try running the Wireless Setup Wizard from the front panel or check in the User Guide.

Dear Customer.
I would like to give it a try to help you with this simple steps on top of the solutions given by others on this forum. I have found thisfrom other thread and hope it can help you as well:
1. Be close enough to printer to see the display
2. On your computer, select Add Printer from the Control Panel
3. When you find your printer displayed select it
4. When it asked for your WPS Pin take a look at the printer display. This number is shown at this time, but doesn't stay up long
5. Type the number into the space provided on your computer screen
6. Wait while it begins loading the printer.
Please let me know if this will work.
Thanks

These steps did help me find the wps pin. Whew!! Thanks. Now however, when I try to add the printer to my computer by entering the wps pin, I keep getting a message that says "time up--your printer stopped waiting--try again". I tried several times and I get the same message.

When I touch the wireless icon, I get a message saying wireless can not connect when the printer an Ethernet cable is connected.
I need to connect to the printer both wired and wirelessly. I have a desktop plugged into the LAN, and the laptop is plugged in via a docking station when I am at my desk. I am not always using my laptop at my desk, though...so I need to be able to print from it from anywhere in the house, while still keeping the printer connected to the LAN via the Ethernet cable.
How do I set this up?

Hi Hobbe63.
Printers only allows you to connect via WIFI or LAN (ETHERNET).
May i suggest that you setup your desktop PC to connect via USB instead to solve this issue?
Thank you.

I have an existing wps network with win7 box and a win8.1 box connected to an HP8710 wireless printer. I bought a new laptop and attempted to connect to the printer and received the message to type in the wps pin number. I came to this forum to overcome the problem and have the following comments. jabzi gave correct info in his post and I did manage to get an 8 digit pin number from the printer. However, the computer wouldn't connect. I followed ceejay_2012 instructions and received an 8 digit pin number that was different than the one previously seen. This pin number allowed me to connect to the printer but win10 could not find the drivers. I then went to hp support and downloaded software for win10-64bit and everything connected. I suspect, but cannot prove, that downloading the software first would have been the better move.
Thanks,
