HP Officejet Pro 6978
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Recently purchased a new Officejet Pro 6978.  Got it set up and running and within a couple of days with very little printing, I got a message saying I was low on ink.  I figured HP was just chincy with their initial ink cartridges and didn't fill them.  Just went to Office Depot and bought all three colors.  Brother them home and put them in the printer and printed 25 sheets of a prochure that was in color and got a "Low on ink" notification.  Are you kidding me?????  TWENTY FIVE PAGES?????  What the heck is going on here?  Is this to be expected or is it an anomoly?  My All-in-One 6280 would print hundres of pages before going low on ink!

No error messages and using a wireless connection, if that helps in your answer.

You've got to be kidding!!!!!!  I used to print 50 or 60 8 1/2 x 11 photographs at a time and never run low on ink with my 6280!!!!!  This thing is worthless to me if I have to go get ink every time I sit down to print 13 photographs.

>>>  them home and put them in the printer and printed 25 sheets of a prochure that was in color and got a "Low on ink" notification.

How much coverage of each sheet ? 20%, 30% or 100% ? From its specs, one ink cartridge can give around 265 pages with coverage 5%. For 10% you can get 130 pages, and 100 % you can only get 13 pages.

In your case now, probably each sheet is convered around 50% ink.

Regards.
