Which printers that I can buy now will use HP 950XL and HP 951XL ink cartridges

I have an old HP8620 printer that has just given me the printhead missing, etc message and none of the fixes that I have been able to find on the HP website have helped.

It is an older printer and I have no issue with replacing it but I have a number of new ink cartridges that I would rather not throw away.

To find compatible printers for HP ink cartridges,

Open the HP Online storefront page -

Click on Ink & Toner

enter the name of the ink cartridge

Click on one of the results (for example, "HP 950XL High Yield Black Original Ink Cartridge")

Click "See compatible printers"

Example:

Storefront - HP 950XL High Yield Black Original Ink Cartridge

At this writing, "compatible" results include:

HP likely will not give  you money for ink cartridges - you can,  however, consider sending them to HP for proper disposal.

Thanks for the quick reply and confirmation of what I was able to find in my research.

The good news is that one of the packages of ink is unopened and was purchased from Costco who has a very liberal and generous return policy so I expect to lose only about $100 in ink cartridges.

I just retired a much loved HP Officejet Pro 8630 (still works - just wanted new tech and purchased an HP Officejet Pro 9025).  I have a couple of unopened cartridges for the 8630:  With no way to return them; I shall likely donate them (with the printer) or return them to HP as recycle items when I send in "empties" from my new printer.

Universal ink would be nice, of course.  It turns out (after having been able to visit a site at HP that designs and manufacturers ink / cartridges) that the technology is precise and complex.  Although I (as would we all) wish ink were not a singular investment, I do better understand why premium manufacturer cartridges and the ink are so expensive.
