My printer has switched to 'scan only' and I can't figure out how to switch it back.

We cannot "Why" or tell you how to "switch it back" - there is simply not enough information in your question to know what you are doing - what you have installed - what you have done - or even which device and Operating System you are using.

 

We don't know what you have tried to fix the problem.

What?

What you have already tried can be important, of course,

Knowing what you are doing helps reduce or eliminate duplicate suggestions.

 

 

All we can do is guess...

 

Guessing - Examples

 

If you are using Windows,

The Full Feature Software is not installed - or if it is installed, it is corrupted / broken

Windows Updates are pending - the system needs to be restarted

You have done something "odd" in the setup for the current job

The "Default" printing device is not selected in Devices and Printers

The application has failed - outdated, hung up, trapped in an error when trying to update

 

If the issue is on the printer itself,

Something has failed in the printer - perhaps a communication issue that can be cleared when you have an idea of the printer error codes / lights

 

If you are using a remote / mobile device,

It is possible the application you are using is outdated, has failed, needs to be removed / reloaded
