My new printer has the habit of printing a test page before it prints my print job. It does this every time and is wasting ink. I don't know where to shut this off. At the bottom of the page it says "For better print quality, place this page on the glass, and then press a copy button'. I have never done this. If I do, will it stop this feature? I will include a photo of the printed page. Thank you.printerTestPage.jpg

Hello,

This confirms that the cartridge alignment process is not performed completely.

In order to solve this issue, please manually align cartridges and scan the alignment page as follows:
  1. Open the HP Printer Assistant software:
    1. Click the Start menu, then click the HP folder, and then HP DeskJet 3630 series. The HP Printer Assistant window opens.
    2. In the HP Printer Assistant, click Print & Scan section, and then click Maintain Your Printer.
    3. Click Device Services tab, and then Align Cartridges. The printer prints an alignment page.
  2. Lift the scanner lid.
  3. Place the alignment page with the print side down on the right-front corner of the scanner glass. See the engraved guide next to the scanner glass for help loading the alignment page.
  4. Close the scanner lid.
  5. Press the Start Copy Black button () or the Start Copy Color button
     
     (on the printer control panel. The printer aligns the ink cartridges.
  6. Try to print.
