I've had the same problem with my HP Envy 4510 all in one printer since I first got it2 years   It didnt install software with an option to print in color and Black. I've done everything HP support has told me and the problem keeps coming back. I'm back to everything printing by default In black.  I had it working for a white now its doing it again. Im out of answers. I'm not calling HP support because it would cost me more for phone support than another printer of a different bland would cost. This has to be poorly written software and they dont seem to care.

I found the solution to my printer not printing in color. Instead of using the software from the HP Website for my Envy 4510 I used the installation disc that came with the printer.  No I have the option to print in color and Black. I tested it several times and it printed in color. I dont know what what's wrong with the software on the HP download site  but it has problems. I wont be downloading anything from that site for my printer.  I'm glad I got it working.
