HP ENVY 6020 All-in-One Printer

Hi,

my printer seems to have gone into overdrive. I only want one copy and it’s churning them out until I stop it

I understand your HP ENVY 6020 All-in-One Printer is mistakenly set to print multiple copies, or the print job settings might have been accidentally changed. Here are some troubleshooting steps to stop the printer from printing more copies than you want:
 

Step 1: Check Printer Settings

  1. Check Print Dialog Settings:
    • When you hit "Print," a dialog box will appear.
    • Ensure the "Copies" field is set to 1. Sometimes, it may have been set to a higher number.
  2. Printer Default Settings:
    • Open Control Panel (or Settings) > Devices and Printers.
    • Right-click on your HP ENVY 6020 and select Printer Preferences.
    • Make sure the number of copies is set to 1 under the "Copies" or "Basic" tab.

Step 2: Clear Print Queue

If your printer has already received a large print job:

  1. Cancel Current Print Jobs:
    • Right-click on the printer icon in the taskbar (bottom-right corner).
    • Select "Open All Printers" or go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners and click on your printer.
    • Cancel any pending jobs to stop the multiple prints.

Step 3: Restart Printer and Computer

  • Turn off your printer and unplug it for a minute.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Plug your printer back in and try again.

Step 4: Update Printer Drivers

If the issue persists, ensure that your printer drivers are up-to-date:

  1. Go to HP's support site.
  2. Download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.
