Why is the orange light by my paper tray on my HPNV6455 flashing

The flashing orange light near the paper tray on your HP Envy Pro 6455 typically signals a general error state

 

Please try the below steps:

 

Power Reset:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug it from the wall for 2–3 minutes.
  • Plug it back in and power on.

Check Paper Tray:

  • Remove all paper.
  • Fan the stack to prevent sticking.
  • Reload paper neatly and ensure it’s aligned with the guides.

Inspect for Jams:

  • Open the rear access door and inside the tray area.
  • Remove any stuck paper gently.

Check Cartridges:

  • Open the cartridge access door.
  • Reseat both cartridges firmly.
  • Close the door and wait for the printer to recalibrate.

Use HP Smart App:

  • Open the app on your phone or PC.
  • Check for any error messages or prompts—it often gives more specific guidance.
