Hi @KG43
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
As I understand from your post, the printer is making black copies. I'd be happy to help.
To better assist you - Are you able to print from your computer?
While you respond to that, let's try a printer reset -
1) Take out the cartridges.
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Wait for 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.
5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.
If the issue still persists, try updating the printer's firmware. Refer to this document for steps - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

HP Deskjet 3050
Asmita: I have tried the steps you outlined on 10/16/19, and thank you for your kind help.
The pages are no longer coming out black, but also are not copying at all. Each time I try to make a copy, it appears to be starting to print a copy, but then ERROR CODE 0X0005FB86 appears in my screen. I don't know what this error code means!
I am not attempting to print from my computer, just trying to make some copies. Can you help?

Remove the ink cartridges, and reset the printer
-
Remove the ink cartridges from the printer.
-
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
-
Unplug the power cord from the power source.
-
Wait at least 60 seconds.
-
Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.
NOTE:
HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
-
Turn the printer on.
-
Reinsert the ink cartridges, and then close the ink cartridge access door.
-
If you receive a prompt to print a calibration or alignment page, do so.

I hope that helps.

Sandy, Thanks for trying to help. I went thru the procedure you described, several times, and also the 2 procedures outlined on the linked HP document; but still not printing/copying, and I keep getting the same Error Code. I'm ready to give up...guess I need to just buy a new printer! Once again...Thanks!
