Hi @Product11,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP LaserJet MFP M234sdwe is showing a blinking orange exclamation light and you're unable to connect it to the internet via Ethernet or WiFi, it suggests a connection or configuration issue.

Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot:

1. Check Network Connection

  • For Ethernet: Ensure that the Ethernet cable is properly connected between your router and the printer. The cable should be securely inserted into both ports.
  • For WiFi: Double-check that your printer is in range of your WiFi network, and that the WiFi network is functioning correctly.

2. Restart Printer, Router, and Computer

  • Turn off your printer, router, and computer.
  • Wait for about 1 minute before turning on the router first, followed by the printer and then your computer.
  • Retry connecting after everything has rebooted.

3. Reset Printer's Network Settings

  • To reset the network settings on the printer:
    1. Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button on the printer control panel for 5-10 seconds until the Power button blinks.
    2. This should restore the network settings to default, allowing you to attempt a fresh connection.

4. Reconnect the Printer to WiFi

You can use the HP Smart app to reconnect your printer to WiFi:

  1. Open the HP Smart app on your device.
  2. Click the "+" to add a new printer and follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. Ensure you have the correct WiFi password handy for your network.

5. Check for Firmware Updates Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Connect the printer via USB to a computer, and then check for any available firmware updates using HP's software. Sometimes connection issues can be resolved through an update.

6. Factory Reset the Printer (if needed)

  • As a last resort, perform a full factory reset:
    1. Hold the Resume button (the one with the paper icon) and the Wireless button simultaneously until the printer powers off.
    2. Turn the printer back on and try setting it up again.

7. Blinking Exclamation Light

  • This usually indicates an error that needs attention. If the light continues after trying these steps, you can print a network configuration report to help identify the specific problem:
    • Press and hold the Resume button for 10 seconds to print the report.
    • Look for any connection errors or network diagnostics on the report.

I hope this helps.
