I get an error saying the color ink cartridge is not compatible, but it is the same one that has been in there - it's just empty now. Won't print anything even black and white. Anything I can do besides get a new color cartridge???

@jlf13, Welcome to HP Support Community!

 

I see that the color ink cartridge is not printing as it is depleted. I'd suggest you remove the color ink and use the printer is single-cartridge mode with just black ink installed.

 

If you still have issues, follow the steps from the document HP Printer Does not Print and Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge.
