I get an error message "There is a problem with the printer or ink system.  turn printer off, then on.  If problem persists contact HP".  I got on the HP web site but I can't find any way to contact a customer service person.

Hi @CN44IFV1JC

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error message "There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn printer off, then on. If the problem persists, contact HP" usually indicates a hardware or software issue with your HP printer. Here's how to troubleshoot and contact HP support:

Troubleshooting Steps:

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer completely.
  • Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait for a few minutes.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then into the printer.
  • Turn on the printer.

Check Ink Cartridges:

  • Open the printer's access door and inspect the ink cartridges.
  • Ensure that the cartridges are properly inserted and not damaged.
  • If the ink levels are low, replace the cartridges with new ones.

Check Paper Tray:

  • Make sure that the paper tray is properly loaded with the correct type of paper.
  • Remove any jammed or misaligned paper.

Run Printer Diagnostics:

  • Most HP printers have built-in diagnostic tools. Refer to your printer's user manual for instructions on how to run these tests.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
