I get an error message - "Orginial Misfeed"     "Make sure the orginial in all the way in the automatic document feeder and restart copy job."  I didn't put anything in the automatic feeder.

No hardware changes, not moved , no carriage jams.

we did disconnect the power cable while the printer was on, unplugged the fax line, and pushed the power button for 20 seconds.  We then reconnected the power cable, and the printer came on by itself.
I proceeded try to copy and same thing, same error message.

Hope you can fine a solution to this.  Thanks

Sandy

The sensor in the ADF that detects paper is inserted is stuck, indicating paper is inserted.    If the steps in the troubleshooting document above do not resolve the issue I would suggest that you try running a few copies through the ADF - this may reset the sensor.  If this does not resolve the issue your printer is likely to require service, which will probably not be cost effective vs. buying a new printer.

Please confirm the printer model- the Photosmart 7550 printer did not have a flatbed or ADF scan capability.

It appears the ADF has a jam, causing it to report there are originals inserted when there are not. If your printer is the HP Officejet L7550 the troubleshooting steps in the document here may help resolve the jam.

I have tried all theses steps, and nothing has solved this problem.  I've never used the ADF for copying.  Any other suggestions?
