Does anyone know where this cartridge access door might be? It doesn't look like anything is open inside the machine. Thx.

A warm welcome to HP Support Community!

The image below should help you locate the print carriage access door:

Removing the ink cartridges and power cycling the printer may clear the error. Let's try these steps:

1) Make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector

2) Remove all of your ink cartridges from the printer and close the door

3) Remove the power cord from the back of the printer (Do no press the power button)

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer

5) Wait for the printer to turn on completely, then install the ink cartridges.

Thanks, Sean for your suggestions... I did all that x2... but it's still flashing the 3 lights. The little cover that you show that should be turned up... has never been attached on my printer... I have the piece but it doesn't fit as the 2 ittle plugs that go into the printer won't allow the plastic bar to expand to insert them.  But I 'held' it there and it didn't make a difference. I also found a little rubber piece that fits on top of 4 little plastic legs lying at the bottom of the printer but not sure what it is... where it goes. I tried fitting it into a space on the left (where it looks like there's a similar piece) but it does fit or sync. Any further suggestions? The printer worked great until the other day when the lights started flashing. Thanks.

Have you tried Removing the ink cartridges and power cycling the printer? Most of the Door open error's can be cleared by performing a simple power cycle.

Thanks, Senan, I have tried all those things multiple times... it will not stop flahsing and saying the 'door' is open. Here are some photos and with a pic of the side and the the last one shows that little rubber piece w/ on the little plastic legs... not sure where it should go... Thanks!
