Well…here goes again. I’ve been fighting this issue for over 4 years!!! It’s almost gotten comical. I was told by HP to take my printer to a service center. So I did…250 miles away! The service center said they didn’t know what to do and to call HP!
So...here's the story. I bought the printer off Amazon. It received little use before I moved. After getting settled in my new house I finally got my office setup. After printing some contracts, I finally ran out of the starter ink cartridges that came with the printer. I purchased new cartridges but after installing them I was given an error that they're not compatible. I was told the error is due to the printer being configured for South America. I live and purchased it in the United States. I was told to call the support number and they can remotely re-configure the printer to accept the 972X cartridge. When I previously called support they've offered ZERO help other than telling me to take it to an authorized service center - which I did - 250 miles away! I've now spent hundreds of dollars and driven 500 miles for the ability to print 50 sheets of paper. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!
