HP Envy 6132e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I have just purchased this printer and it constantly shows an error message on the printer display screen everytime I try to print.

The message is that I have inserted the wrong size of paper despite installing A4 and selecting A4 in the print set up menu.

I can press the print anyway button and the print goes ahead ok.

Help!

Hi @Clanger58,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand that your HP Envy 6132e All-in-One Printer continuously shows an error message about incorrect paper size despite using A4. Here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:

  1. Check Paper Guides: Ensure the paper guides in the paper tray are correctly adjusted against the edges of the A4 paper. The guides should not be overly tight or leave gaps.

  2. Inspect Paper Loading: Make sure the paper is loaded correctly and lying flat in the tray. Avoid bending or wrinkling the paper edges.

  3. Verify Printer Settings: Double-check the printer settings on your computer to ensure you have selected A4 as the paper size.
    • From the Print Setup menu, ensure A4 is selected in the paper size settings.
    • Also, verify this setting within the HP printer software or driver interface.

  4. Print Quality and Paper Type: Ensure that the correct paper type is selected in the printer settings. Some printers might display an error if the paper type is not set to match the actual paper being used.

  5. Update Firmware: Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. Sometimes issues can be resolved with the latest software updates.
  6. Perform a Printer Reset:
  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds, plug it back in, and turn the printer on to see if the error resolves.

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Thank you for your very helpful response. I have now sorted out the paper issues.

I have another problem in that when I try to register for Ink Supplies, I get all the way through the process only for a message to appear saying that the system does not recognise my printer!

The message reads: We are unable to connect your printer to finish Instant Ink enrollment
