Greetings!

Welcome to the HP Support Community. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand, there's an issue with the "configuration problem" error.

Don’t worry, I’m here to help! To better assist you -

1) What's the model name of the printer? Refer to this link for steps to find the product details. (Ensure not to share the serial number, email, phone number, etc.)

2) What's the operating system installed on the computer?

3) Have you tried any troubleshooting steps before posting here?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps -

Step 1 Printer Reset -

1) Take out the cartridges.
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Wait for 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.
5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Step 2 Re-install the printer drivers -

For Windows OS, refer to this document for instructions.

For Mac OS, refer to this document for instructions.

Here's the link to download and install the printer drivers.

If the issue still persists, try updating the printer's firmware

Hope this helps!

Let me know how that goes.

This is a ridiculously unacceptable solution to a problem with this printer. This is bad engineering.
