The following is general information based on the subject and not specifically related what your printer can (or will) do.
Lower quality at larger size can be linked to the pixel count (PPI = Pixels per Inch / density) of the image.
A3 | 297 x 420 mm | 11.7 x 16.5 in |
A4 | 210 x 297 mm | 8.3 x 11.7 in |
DPI / Print Resolution and size affects the outcome.

Thanks Dragon-Fur but when i print the document to A3 size but on A4 paper the print is perfect. my old hp scanner/ printer/ fax machine printed good quality on both a3 and a4. i swapped the trays/ changed printer settings but problem persists.
