After a firmware update, my printer won't print from any platform that have worked for years. Is my printer broke or just sabotaged? I have aftermarket color cartridges.

Try these steps:

Check Cartridge Compatibility:

  • Ensure that the aftermarket cartridges you are using are compatible with the HP OfficeJet Pro 8715. HP printers often have security features that may not recognize non-HP cartridges after a firmware update.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for a few minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on.

Update/Reinstall Printer Drivers:

Check Firmware Update Notes:

Replace Cartridges:

  • Try replacing the aftermarket cartridges with genuine HP cartridges to ensure there are no compatibility issues.
