Hi @charval214,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you've cleared a paper jam in your HP ENVY Pro 6458 All-In-One Printer and the lights are still flashing after resetting the printer, it could indicate a few different issues. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the problem.

Check for Residual Paper: Ensure that there are no small bits of paper stuck inside the printer. Even tiny shreds of paper can trigger a jam detection.

Inspect the Paper Path: Carefully check the entire paper path, from the input tray to the output tray, for any obstructions or foreign objects that might be blocking the path of the paper.

Check for Sensor Issues: There are paper sensors inside the printer that detect paper movement. Make sure none of these sensors are damaged or blocked. Gently clean them if needed.

Reset the Printer: Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet, then wait for at least 60 seconds before plugging it back in. This extended reset can help clear any residual errors.

Update Firmware: Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer on the HP website. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve hardware issues.

Check for Error Messages: Your printer may display an error code or message on its screen. Take note of any error codes or messages and refer to the printer's user manual or the HP support website for guidance on what they mean.

Inspect Ink Cartridges: Sometimes, issues with ink cartridges can also cause flashing lights. Make sure all ink cartridges are properly seated and not empty or expired.

Perform a Semi-Full Reset: You can try a semi-full reset by following these steps (note that this will reset some printer settings, so be prepared to reconfigure them).

  • Unplug the power cord from the printer.
  • Press and hold the '#' and '3' buttons on the printer's front panel.
  • While holding these buttons, plug the power cord back in.
  • Continue holding the buttons until the printer starts up. This may take a few seconds.
  • Once the printer resets, release the buttons and check if the flashing lights have stopped.

Remember to handle the printer carefully during troubleshooting to avoid causing any further damage.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
