My printer just started saying "there is a problem with the printhead Event Code 62.80.A0" and I have gone through these forums and have unplugged it 2 days in a row 3 times and it still says the code, I actually just got a different code 62.80.35 before this last reset. Nothing is fixing it. I don't even know what a printehead is and the instructions to wiggle or do all these things make no sense to me. This is so frustrating

Hi @KassandraBruhn,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The "Event Code 62.80.A0" error on your printer indicates a problem with the printhead. The printhead is a crucial component of the printer that applies ink to the paper. When it encounters issues, it can prevent the printer from functioning correctly.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you address the error and potentially resolve the issue:
1. Power Cycle the Printer
Turn Off:
- Power off your printer using the power button.
Unplug:
- Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
Wait:
- Leave it unplugged for at least 60 seconds to ensure a full reset.
Reconnect and Power On:
- Plug the power cord back into the printer and the wall outlet.
- Turn the printer back on and check if the error persists.
2. Check and Reseat the Printhead
Open Printer Access Door:
- Open the printer’s access door to reveal the printhead and ink cartridges.
Remove Ink Cartridges:
- Carefully remove the ink cartridges from the printhead.
Remove Printhead:
- Follow your printer’s manual to remove the printhead. Usually, there is a release lever or button for this.
Clean Contacts:
- Gently clean the metal contacts on the printhead and inside the printer with a lint-free cloth or a cotton swab lightly moistened with distilled water. Avoid using excessive moisture.
Reseat Printhead:
- Reinstall the printhead by aligning it properly and securing it into place.
Reinstall Ink Cartridges:
- Place the ink cartridges back into their slots and make sure they click into place.
Close Access Door:
- Close the access door and ensure it is properly latched.
3. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers
Open Device Manager:
- Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
Update Driver:
- Locate your printer under Printers or Print queues.
- Right-click on it and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
Reinstall Printer Driver:
- If updating doesn’t work, uninstall the printer driver and reinstall it from the HP website.
4. Perform Printer Self-Test
- Check Printer’s Built-in Diagnostics:
- Some printers have built-in diagnostic tests that can help identify issues. Refer to your printer’s manual for instructions on how to run these tests.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
