I cannot print Avery 5201 labels correctly. They print at the top of the page. I use MS Word. I have downloaded the template several times and this is a recurring problem. I note others have posted the same issue with different models of HP printers.

These labels are unusual in that the template from Avery mis-spells the word printer in the template name (as least as US English spells the word "printer") and the label sheet is 4x6 inches (many templates are 8.5x11 / A4).
Nothing to be done about poor spelling from a vendor.

Nothing to be done about "different models" of printers. So much depends on the ability of the particular printer to support the options necessary to accomplish a task.
This particular printer model series does support the 4x6 inch paper size and can support that size for various media types.
NOTE: Verify the paper size in the Printer Properties (found in File > Print menu)
This particular printer supports "card stock" (Index card to 200 g/m2) - card or Index is a typical choice for heavier labels, though most Avery labels do quite well using Media type "Brochure" (180 g/m2).
Important:
- If you have trouble selecting a certain paper size with a particular media (kind of paper), create a Custom Paper Size form.
- When you change the paper in the printer tray, be sure to check the printer control panel. If necessary, modify / change the paper size on the printer control panel. If the size of paper you are using is not listed, select "Custom" > Click OK to exit the menu

The following is relevant to newer versions of Office Word...
NOTE: This model supports Media "Index" - perhaps noted in your Printer Properties as "Cardstock / Heavy" and also supports "Brochure matte". This particular label sheet will likely work quite well with the "Brochure" setting for Media (kind of paper).
In general, for most templates, I use margins = "Narrow" (1/2 inch on a side)
Set the Source to "Tray 1"
Set Duplex to "Off"
Set 1 page per sheet
