Hi @MarkRyan317,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check Ink Cartridge Installation:

  • Ensure the new black ink cartridge is correctly installed in its slot. It should click into place securely.

Use Genuine HP Cartridges:

  • Make sure you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Non-HP or refilled cartridges might not function correctly.

Clean the Printhead:

  • Sometimes the printhead can become clogged. Access the printer's maintenance settings and select the option to clean the printheads.

Perform a Printer Reset:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about a minute, and then plug it back in and turn it on.

Print a Test Page:

  • Try printing a test page to determine if the problem persists. This can often diagnose color vs. alignment issues.

Check for Error Messages:

  • The printer's control panel may display warning messages or codes. If any appear, consult the HP support website for specific guidance based on the error code.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure your printer drivers are updated. Visit the HP Support website to find the latest drivers for your printer model and Windows 11.

Alignment Settings:

  • Incorrect alignment settings can cause printing errors. Access the printer’s settings menu and select “Align Printer.”

Inspect the Cartridge Contacts:

  • Ensure the cartridge's electrical contacts are clean and undamaged. You can gently wipe them with a lint-free cloth.

I hope this helps.
