I want to print a design to the edge of the paper. However, when I turn on borderless printing, instead of my image/words printing in the middle of the page (like it is in the word document) it prints at the top of the page!  In the word document itself everything looks fine, even in the print preview.  Any suggestions on what is going on?  Thanks!

@YodieSmiley, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding a print issue!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It sounds like the issue might be related to how the printer is handling the paper margins when borderless printing is enabled. Here are a few things you can try:

Check Paper Size Settings: Ensure that both your Word document and the printer are set to the same paper size. Sometimes, the settings might be different between the document and the printer, leading to misalignment.

Align the Document’s Margins: Even though you mentioned that everything looks fine in the document, double-check that the margins in Word are set to "0" or to the minimum value allowed for borderless printing. Some printers can't handle a true 0-margin, so you might need to adjust slightly.

Use the Printer’s Software: Try adjusting the print settings from the printer’s software or control panel. In the HP Smart app or the printer settings on your computer, ensure that "Borderless Printing" is selected properly, and check for any other settings like "Auto-Scaling" or "Positioning" that may be misaligned.

Printer Driver Update: Ensure that you have the latest drivers for your HP Smart Tank Plus 651 printer. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause strange issues with print alignment.

Select Paper Type: Make sure you're using the correct paper type for borderless printing. For example, choosing "Photo Paper" instead of "Plain Paper" may affect how the printer handles the margins.

Check for Software Conflicts: If you're using third-party software to print, there might be compatibility issues with how the borderless feature is handled. Try printing directly from Microsoft Word using the built-in printer settings.

Let me know if it helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
