Place Agfa gloss -- use HP Smart to print photos, select size & paper, hit print -- nothing happens -- why??

"Why??"

Some of the reasons for "nothing happens" might include:

• The application is hung, not signed-in -- and / Or The printer is not added to the app or printer is not accessible (status not "green").
• The paper is not supported in terms of size, type, weight, print surface.
• The printer is not aware (set to) the correct paper size / type - Tray and Paper.
• The job configuration paper size / type settings cannot be matched to the printer's Tray and Paper Settings.  For example, Index Card is not the same size / type as is Photo paper in those same dimensions.
• The version of the HP Smart application is not the most current version on all devices where the application is installed.  The "installed HP Smart app must be latest the version" requirement includes computer(s), tablet(s), and phone(s) where the application is installed.

True - Most of the reasons for job failure typically issue a failure message as opposed to the application simply not responding at all.

Try / Consider 

Restart both computer and printer

Assign paper type as "Other Photo Inkjet Papers"
