Sorry no.  Why?  The 950 cartridge is made for different printers.

That is simply planned obsilence.

HP makes a fortune on cartridges, not printers.

Solution: market a different model printer, with exactly the same features, but make it so that the printer cartridges are not interchangable.

I'd love to hear HP say there is a design or performance reason that inspired them to require virtually the same size cartridges in exactly the same printer.

Best interest of the consumer: interchangable cartridges, UNLESS there is really a performance reason not to do.

In this cvase, I have both printer models. There is no reason, plain and simple.

I understand you, the manufacturer, say it's made for a different printer, but since they look the same--what is PHYSICALLY DIFFERENT from 950/951 that my Officed Jet 8600 uses compared to the 952 that the NEW Office Jet 8725 uses?  WHAT is different about them that they would not be able to work?

Thanks!

Different electrical contact voltage, different ink jet port size, different spacing, higher density.

Why, then, does this site (compatibility matrix) indicate that the answer is yes (on the last page)?

Althought the cartridges appear to be identical, the groveat the top of the cartridges are different. one is straight 952, and the 950/951 is notched.
